Globalfest 2009: Canada

Globalfest is a pretty big gig nowadays. I haven’t actually been to any of the tents yet so far this year… but the fireworks are still the main attraction in most people’s eyes. Thousands of people attended the friday night edition of the fireworks show. I thought they did a good job.

There a place in India called Cherrapunji. It’s apparently the wettest place on earth. Ficus elastica trees thrive there apparently. And the locals braid bridges with it’s roots. Running Robot

Well, it appears that robots in general are here to stay. Companies are pouring money into R&D nowadays. Toyota for example have demo’s a robot that can balance itself by taking steps backward much like bipeds do. And it can run at 7km/hr. On with the leaping! Hit the vid after the jump.
