Hike: Helen Lake

pan_lakehelen_09_smallHelen Lake is a beautiful hike located across the highway from bow lake and the crowfoot glacier on route 93.   It’s a moderate 12 km hike (round-trip).  A good portion of the elevation gain is at the beginning of the hike.  But the view down at Bow Lake and the Crowfoot Glacier is amazing and just keeps getting better until you hit the valley.  The valley is covered in wildflowers and green meadows in the summer.  Once through the valley you make your way across a small stream until you reach Helen Lake.  Marmots hang out around Helen Lake feasting on wildflowers and grass in the meadows.  Totally worth it!
