The trevi fountain was started in 1730 finished in 1762.
The fountain is the termination point of Acqua Vergine, serving Rome with drinking water – some of the purest in Rome. People drink and cook with it to this day.
Some restoration work is still in progress and have been ongoing since 1998.
The Trevi Fountain is the largest Baroque fountain in Rome, and is 20 metres wide and 26 metres tall.
