Went to Whitby in Scarborough once more 🙂 It’s of course famous for Captain James Cook (or Jimmy as I like to call him). Whitby was established around 656 apprently and re-founded in 1078 after the Vikings rolled through and destroyed it. The whalebon arch commorates the whaling industry but is actually a second iteration. The original one is in the Whitby Archives Heritage Centre. Interestingly enough it has a twin city in Ontario, of the same name. It’s less scenic.
