So it seems like this year Twillingate has the most Icebergs in roughly 30 years! Had the opportunity to tour around with the Iceberg Man! He’s your man. Amazing to see and a must do if you’re ever in Newfoundland in June.
- Icebergs appear white due the air trapped inside it.
- Tiniest pice of sea ice.
- Icebergs are usually up to 15000 years old.
- Biggest iceberg we saw up close.
- This one had a little cave.
- The blue streak is almost pure water and appears blue due to the little amount of air traped inside.
- Beautiful!
- Funny airplane shaped iceberg.
- The lines across the iceberg are waterlines – where the water used to be before the iceberg rotated due to the sift in it’s centre of gravity induced by melting.
- Twillingate Island from across the bay.
- Ice to be scooped up and enjoyed later.
Also.. it’s really difficult to take pictures of icebergs.
