Snowy Owls are all over the prairies this time of year but they are pretty hard to spot. Uber-zoom Canon SX50HS gets you close enough to these amazing birds. We’ve managed to find some on every trip so far. Apparently they need to catch 7 to 12 mice/ or 3 to 5 lemmings every day …
Went looking for some birds, found a great horned owl! And some adorable muskrats! The owl is ridiculously well camouflaged in the fall colours. I wonder if it will be sticking around.
Osprey are still very active at Dickson trout pond. Catch and release only at Dickson dam due to Midstream Canada Oil Spill. They don’t have prominent signage anywhere.
Loads of critters are out and about this time of year. Spent some time hunting them down, strictly with a 4-door saloon 🙂 Amazing what you can see just through the window.
After spotting this amazing bald eagle, I thought I’d take a few more pictures of birds.
